Here you go! As promised, Marfa Part 2! I’m having so much fun reliving our fun few days in Marfa! There are quick videos in this post, but depending on your internet speed, they might not load/look more like an image. 🙂
Our second day, we took it easy (which i think is the norm in Marfa). Relaxing morning drinking cowboy coffee. We only stayed one night at El Cosmico, so had an early checkout. We shopped a little at their gift store, snapped a few photos, and were off to check into our next location! An adorable Airbnb, Corte del Norte (the love house). The cottage we stayed in sleeps up to five guests and the rock city house sleeps up to four. We have so many photos and videos (of us squealing) at this adorable little treasure in Marfa. We quickly dropped off our luggage and were off to eat lunch! We walked to the food truck area and ate at The Food Shark. (this link will show you the spots to eat at) There are a few other food trucks, but this was the one all the bloggers raved about! I will mention…making reservations to the restaurants is smart on the weekends. Also, all the restaurants have weird hours during the week. As we walked home, there were a few museums we popped into. We didn’t last very long. Heat and dehydration aren’t fun. 😉 Drink TONS of water while you’re there. Heat exhaustion and adjusting to the higher altitude will totally sneak up on you.
A few of us napped (any trip i’m on consists of pictures, eating and napping). After naps, we drove about 40min to the art installation Prada store on the left. Did you know they only put one of the shoes in the pair on display so they are less enticing to steal? it’s a quick, iconic photo stop and then move on…
We took an obscene amount of photos and ate our weight in food this day. I LOVED our cute airbnb because we were walking distance from everything! We decided (last second) to cook and eat in…because our airbnb was so stinkin’ cute!! The GET GO (has healthy options…a tiny Whole foods) is right around the corner and Porters Grocery is down the road. My cutie-pie sisters (pinterest queen michaela) planned a birthday fiesta dinner (I was in charge of strong margaritas)! After dinner we danced to the Gipsy Kings, and played bingo/pin the tail on the donkey! SOOO much more fun…as adults!!
I recommend Lost Horse Saloon for a hole in the wall spot to drink inexpensively and meet locals. Planet Marfa looked like fun, but was only open on the weekend. Marfa blog post part 3 coming soon! 🙂
