30th Birthday Marfa, TX – Part 2

Here you go! As promised, Marfa Part 2! I’m having so much fun reliving our fun few days in Marfa! There are quick videos in this post, but depending on your internet speed, they might not load/look more like an image. ūüôā

Our second day, we took it easy (which i think is the norm in Marfa). Relaxing morning drinking¬†cowboy coffee. We only stayed one night at El Cosmico, so had an¬†early checkout. We shopped a little at their gift store, snapped a few photos, and were off to check into our next location! An adorable Airbnb, Corte del Norte (the love house).¬†The cottage we stayed in sleeps up to five guests and the rock city house¬†sleeps up to four. We have so many photos and videos (of us squealing) at this¬†adorable little treasure in Marfa. We quickly dropped off our luggage and were off to eat lunch! We walked to the food truck area and ate at The Food Shark. (this link will show you the spots to eat at) There are a few other food trucks, but this was the one all the bloggers raved about! I will mention…making reservations to the restaurants is smart on the weekends. Also, all the restaurants have weird hours during the week. As we walked home, there were a few museums we popped into. We didn’t last very long. Heat and dehydration aren’t fun. ūüėȬ†Drink TONS of water while you’re there. Heat exhaustion and adjusting to the higher altitude will totally sneak up on you.

A few of us napped (any trip i’m on consists of¬†pictures,¬†eating and napping). After naps, we drove about 40min¬†to the¬†art installation Prada store on the¬†left. Did you know they only put one of the shoes in the pair on display so they are less enticing to steal? it‚Äôs a quick, iconic photo stop and then move on‚Ķ

We took an obscene amount of photos and ate our weight in food this day.¬†I LOVED our cute airbnb because we were walking distance from everything!¬†We decided (last second) to cook and eat in‚Ķbecause our airbnb was so stinkin’ cute!! The¬†GET GO (has healthy options‚Ķa tiny Whole foods) is right around the corner and Porters Grocery is down the road. My cutie-pie sisters (pinterest queen michaela) planned a birthday fiesta dinner (I was in charge of strong margaritas)! After dinner we¬†danced to the Gipsy Kings, and played bingo/pin the tail on the donkey! SOOO much more fun‚Ķas adults!!

I recommend Lost Horse Saloon for a hole in the wall spot to drink inexpensively and meet locals. Planet Marfa looked like fun, but was only open on the weekend.¬†Marfa blog post part 3 coming soon! ūüôā

30th Birthday Marfa, TX – Part 1

I have a million photos from these four days in Marfa! So difficult to narrow down! I’m going to be doing three posts from our trip with details on everything we did, for those who are interested in experiencing that West Texas charm! What a birthday!! I had so much fun celebrating my belated 30th birthday with three¬†of my favorite humans! Here are a few of my favorite images from our road trip out west and first day staying at El Cosmico! We kept this trip pretty low-key, since we had to drive a lot!

We stayed in The Battleship, a lovely refurbished airstream! We spent the evening enjoying a wonderful meal at Jett’s Grill¬†inside Hotel Paisano. They have excellent freshly squeezed margaritas! After, we relaxed in the hammocks and looked at the stars (in reality…we had an argument around the relaxing hammock session…made up‚Ķ. then laughed until we cried about the entire campsite hearing our loud argument‚Ķtypical sister stuff). ūüôā ¬†***Be mindful when visiting the MARFA PRADA store‚Ķit’s 45min away from town!**
